The business school is a global authority on helping students and corporates to improve innovation and creativity. The challenge here was working in partnership with the University to deliver its coaching and vast knowledge through a new interactive digital product called Ingenuity Online.
This is an ambitious brief that will further extend the reach of the University which already has strong links to China and Malaysia. To be successful, the product needed to be scalable and work with burst traffic loads. Given the brand, it must also be well polished and bring real value to the customers expect from Nottingham.
Cloud Enterprise collaborated with the institute to experience the Ingenuity process first hand. We invested time in attending the workshops and studied the publications to developed detailed user journeys for every user group.
Moving onto the technologies, we built concept wireframes for various ideas that could be tested in the field. We worked to the guiding principles that every feature needed to add value, be scalable and can be used without training.
Finally, the interface designers and front-end engineers applied a polished interface that has since been successfully put to the test with thousands of users without training.
Ingenuity Online (IOL) provides Nottingham University with vast potential for new channels of revenue delivering services beyond the physical confides of its estate. The micro-payment service allows users to access the Ingenuity process digitally.
Ingenuity Online has a proven track record of effortlessly stimulating innovation. For example, users on average generate a higher number of quality solutions to challenges than otherwise possible.
In fact, we were so impressed by what we saw that Cloud Enterprise invested to form a joint venture with Nottingham University to commercialise Ingenuity Online.
The product has already been a resounding success being used as a core part of the business school curriculum as well as training thousands of aspiring high-flying entrepreneurs every year. The platform was also selected to run prestigious enterprise events across 21 universities worldwide.
Commercially, Ingenuity Online has been put to use in executive development programs such as with the Mitsubishi Chemical Group. Guided by the Ingenuity process, they brought together a multi-disciplinary team resulting in new strategies and action plans for their business.
