Our client is the UK’s premier afternoon tea guide and booking site with over 500 venues throughout the UK and Ireland.
It is well known for its offers and insights into the best locations for breakfast, brunch, Sunday roast and afternoon teas. Its annual awards dinner is a celebration for the industry that everyone looks forward to!
Afternoon Tea wanted to build on their incredible success with a full overhaul of all their digital services. Everything from their iconic website, offers, bookings and backend automated systems.
The customer journey was the key ingredient here and needed to be silky smooth from start to finish. Every journey is unique to each customer group, beautiful crafted to bring customers back to afternoon tea every time.
There is only one real way to approach a task like this and that is invest in knowing our customer and their users. Signing up to Afternoon Tea and being users ourselves gave the team a unique insight into the user experience and how technology can be used to boost growth.
Following the user experience, our team set to work on the business processes and machinery. We rearchitected the whole digital landscape to streamline business operations. The technology is now fully supportive of the agile Afternoon Tea culture letting them respond quickly to changes in the market.
Starting with simplified user journeys, we delivered a fully remastered website with a silky-smooth interface for all devices. Offering customers more in less clicks reduced the overall booking friction resulting in happier customers and business growth.
Under the hood, we put in place fully customisable content management that lets Afternoon Tea quickly create effective marketing and promotions. The whole platform is sat on heavy dynamic hosting, handling burst traffic to the site that mushrooms during promotions and special periods like Christmas.
With these foundations in place, we turned to adding new digital products to their line up including a comprehensive restaurant booking and management system.
